Ward was born on April 15th, 1975 in MonroeLouisiana. She was a student at the private Christian elementary school called Monroe Christian School. Ward went to Ouachita parish high school for her secondary education. She then moved to River Oaks High School the summer after her junior year. A short time after her graduation she attended Northeast Louisiana University. Ward, then 13, started modeling shortly after leaving school. After graduation, she relocated in New York to pursue this job. A few years later, she decided to also try her hand at acting. In the 1970s, she acted as an uncredited character in All My Children. A few years later she was a part of the NBC premiertime drama for teens Malibu Shores. Ward got her first lead role as a character in Sunset Beach daytime soap opera and portrayed the virginal Meg Cummings.
